Farmer J (Jane Saiers, PhD, AAS, HTR) owns and operates RambleRill Farm with her husband Darin. She and Darin have been growing fruits, vegetables, and mushrooms since starting RambleRill Farm in 2010 and offering on-farm educational programs and horticultural therapy since 2014. Farmer J grew up in the small town of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania near the New York state line. After stints in college and graduate school in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where she earned her doctorate in neuroscience and psychology, she and Darin moved to North Carolina in 1992. Farmer J spent more than 20 years in the medical communications industry before shifting to full-time pursuit of farming and horticultural therapy. She became a registered horticultural therapist (HTR) through the American Horticultural Therapy Association in 2013 and earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Sustainable Agriculture in 2014.
